There is no doubt you spend a small fortune getting your hair color to look just right! The problem is the environment (sun, heat, humidity), pool and salt water and daily washing and styling will fade even the best color.
- Choosing the Right Products to Protect Hair Color…
Choose a shampoo designed for color-treated hair. These products will be free of color-fading ingredients such as Sodium Laureth Sulfate and salt. Avoid products designed for deep cleaning or “clarifying” that can fade color over time. Your conditioner should be formulated for color-treated hair as well. These products are designed to retain moisture, color deposits and enhance the luminosity of color-treated hair.
The same rules apply for styling products. Look for products designed for color-treated hair. Avoid using styling products with alcohol and other ingredients that can fade hair color. - Other ways to Protect that Color… Swimming pools can wreak havoc on colored hair. Rinse (even better to shampoo) your hair immediately after swimming to remove any chlorine. If you are in the sun, protect your hair with a leave-in conditioner containing sunscreen. When using any hot tools, try a thermal protecting spray to improve styling control and minimize moisture loss.
